Rhythms of Country captures the movement and interconnectedness of Country from an aerial perspective. Rich ochres, soft pinks, warm clay tones and creamy whites draw from the colours of the Australian landscape. Flowing forms move across the canvas, tracing waterways, hills and natural pathways. At the heart of the work, a waterway branches and winds through the landscape, with repeated white dots following its path and creating a sense of rhythm and continuity. Layered colour, texture and pattern bring movement to the surface, inviting the viewer’s eye to travel through the work. The flowing forms reflect the continual movement of water across Country, while the surrounding landscape responds and takes shape around it. Rhythms of Country reflects the relationship between water, land and life, and the movement that connects them.
