What began as a layering experiment with papier-mâché evolved into something far more symbolic. The rough, torn seams that formed along the surface reminded me not only of natural landscapes, but also of the ancient marks left by time, the cracks, carvings, and weathered textures found across the ruins of past civilizations. For me, these textures evoke the universal language of heritage, traces of hands, stories, and cultures long gone, yet still quietly present. In that surface, I saw not just material, but memory. In contrast, the flowing, curved forms of the second piece are rooted in my personal relationship with the sea, a place I’ve always associated with calm, clarity, and emotional release. The swirling lines and rhythmic movement across the surface are visual echoes of ocean waves, soft yet powerful, ever-changing yet eternal. This work channels the quiet strength I find by the water, where I often reconnect with myself through stillness and motion.
A Study in Stillness
The Solace Painting unfolds through a soft white palette with flowing forms that drift across the surface like quiet movement suspended in time. Raised textures catch the light gently, giving the piece an airy depth that shifts throughout the day.
Mood in Motion
Its sweeping lines create a calm, meditative rhythm, bringing a sense of softness to bedrooms, hallways or serene living spaces. Its size gives the artwork presence while preserving its light, ethereal mood.
